Scouting is about being with friends, working as part of a team and participating fully in the adventure and opportunities of life.
Scouts take part in a balanced programme that is designed to help them find out about the world in which they live, encourages them to know their own abilities and helps to develop their creative talents.
It also provides opportunities to explore their own values and personal attitudes.
Being outdoors is important to Scouting and half of the programme is given over to the traditional scouting skills, such as camping, survival and cooking as well as a wide range of adventurous activities, such as archery and kayaking.
We have two Scout Troops at the 169th.
Blackwell Troop meets every Tuesday evening during school term time from 7.00pm to 8.30pm at our Scout hut in Brentry unless the programme states otherwise. Blackwell Troop Leader is Dave.
Stephenson Troop meets every Wednesday evening during school term time from 6.30pm to 8.00pm at our Scout hut in Brentry unless the programme states otherwise. Stephenson Troop Leader is Antony.
